A Glimpse of Reality, installation by Maarten Donders, wood, steel, glass, brass, 180x60x35 cm, 2011, Front.

In today’s world, where virtual and real realms merge, authenticity becomes both rare and desirable. External forces increasingly shape our lives, influencing thoughts and actions that blur the line between genuine and constructed. Yet, the yearning for true identity persists, making authenticity even more precious. As our reality becomes ever more mediated by images and digital interactions, we are left to question: to what extent do our choices reflect who we truly are, versus the artificial worlds we both create and inhabit?
